Quotes or estimates for any work recommended are not included as part of a pre-purchase structural survey. We will of course advise the type of professional/expert required to get quotes from.
There are a few reasons for this, but the main one is that there is such a large range of possible works which could be recommended/advised, that a surveyor is unlikely to be able to keep up with all of the current pricing and so could not guarantee that any estimates are accurate.
The construction and professional services market is fast changing and even books which are publishes each year to give guide prices for professionals like Quantity Surveyors and Architects are out of date after a few months, sometimes even by the time the book goes to print.
If your bank are requesting estimates for any essential items, once you get quotes, the surveyor can advise if the work quoted would address the issues identified. This satisfies any bank requests.
