Notes on Living with Covid Restrictions affecting housing and services related.
On 13th of January, the government introduced additional measures to Level 5 around our living with covid plan. These measures do impact the construction and housing sector.
Yesterday, IPAV, SCRI and PRSA published joint measures that cover how estate agents, valuers, surveyors and other professionals can operate under the latest government measures and ensure the safety of everyone involved.

However, the part which specifically applies to surveyors is on page 6 and states the following:
Engagement of the services of valuers, surveyors and other required professionals to progress the sale is permitted in the following circumstances: 1)The property has gone sale agreed and contracts for sale drafted. 2) Contract for sale signed subject to conditions. 3) Valuations required by banks or solicitors pertaining to essential services. 4) Emergency circumstances. Professionals to follow sectoral, HSE, and Government Guidelines.

When we receive a booking for a survey, our surveyors will contact the estate agent (or other vendor) to arrange access to the property. The agent will be able to ensure the necessary conditions are met so the surveyor can access the property to conduct the survey.
For our customers, there will be no difference in the service we provide. You book at GetHouseSurvey.ie, our surveyors arrange access and conduct the survey and return it to you.
As estate agents will need to ensure that the property is not occupied at the time and that multiple people are not given access, we believe there is a risk of increasing our turnaround time by 1-2 days, but as of yet we have not seen any increase.
For specific questions or concerns, you will have the name, email and number of the surveyor conducting the survey. We encourage you to get in touch with them and they will address any questions you have.
